What is the image to ZIP utility?

The image to ZIP utility is a browser-based archive utility made for photographers, designers, and anyone who needs to transfer many images at once. It lets you combine dozens or even hundreds of separate images, including JPG, PNG, WEBP, and GIF, into one standard ZIP file with a single action. All packaging happens locally in your browser memory, so private photos are never uploaded to any external server.

How to package multiple images online?

  • Drag and import:Drag multiple images or an entire folder that contains images into the dashed area at the top of the page.
  • Smart filtering:The utility automatically scans the folder and filters out non-image files such as text documents or programs, keeping only image formats in the list.
  • Set options:Below the list, you can customize the ZIP filename and even add a password to protect it from unwanted access.
  • One-click packaging:Click the start button and the utility will immediately package all images into one ZIP file and trigger the download to your device.

Frequently asked questions

Why is store-only mode recommended for images?

Common image formats such as JPG, PNG, and WEBP are already heavily compressed when created. Applying standard ZIP compression again usually does not reduce size much and only wastes time and device performance. That is why store-only mode is the fastest and most efficient way to package image collections.

Can my private photos be exposed?

No. The utility is built entirely with modern HTML5 and browser JavaScript. All photos you add exist only in the working memory of your computer or phone, and the utility packages and saves them locally. No photo data is transmitted to our servers. You can even disconnect from the internet and test it yourself.

How many images can I package at once?

In theory there is no fixed image count limit, but the actual limit depends on your device memory and browser behavior. Dragging in thousands of large original photos at once may exhaust memory and crash the browser. For the best stability and experience, it is recommended to keep the total size of one batch around 1GB to 2GB.
