Frequently asked questions
Answers to common questions about using the website
1. Are the utilities really free?
Yes. All current online archive and file handling utilities on the website are free to use without account registration.
2. Are files uploaded to a server?
No. This is a core feature of the platform. Compression, extraction, and password checks all run through local browser JavaScript, so file data never leaves your device.
3. Why can very large files be slow or fail?
Because all processing happens locally in the browser, speed and stability depend on CPU performance and available memory. For multi-GB archives or packages with huge numbers of small files, desktop software is recommended.
4. Which formats are supported?
The main supported formats are ZIP, TAR, and GZ for online extraction and preview. RAR and 7Z may have compatibility limits in browser-only environments and are still being improved.
5. Can a forgotten archive password be recovered?
No. To protect privacy, the utilities run only locally and do not store files or passwords. If the password is completely lost, it cannot be directly recovered. The ZIP weak password checker can try common or custom combinations, but success is never guaranteed.
6. Can these utilities be used on mobile?
Yes. The website uses responsive design and works on phones, tablets, and desktops. However, large archives may feel slower on mobile because of browser memory limits.
