Why we started

Handling archive files like ZIP, TAR, and GZ is a frequent but often frustrating task in daily work and study. To open one file, people often have to search for, download, and install extra software. ZIP Toolbox was created to change that.

We aim to build a no-install, ready-to-use online file platform that makes compression, extraction, format conversion, and password management as easy as opening a webpage.

Local-first security

Security and privacy are at the core of what matters here. We understand that the files you handle may contain sensitive information, so the main compression and extraction features run directly with the power of modern browsers.

This means: your files are processed entirely on your own device, and nothing is uploaded to our servers.You can even continue using the page after it has loaded, with your network disconnected for stronger privacy isolation.
